Protecting our Communities

Help make a difference with an authentic voice in Sonoma County.

Wildfire Animal Rescue

When Tubbs Fire hit, the county had no plan in place for how to get the animals out of the wildfire. Shelina teamed up with other community members and built a system that rescued thousands of animals out of Tubbs Fire, and tens of thousands since. Nicknamed "Team Badass", they're 100% volunteer group and an important resource for our community.

Protect Local Food & Farms

When Measure J targeted Sonoma County, Shelina banded together a team of farmers, restaurateurs, wineries, contractors, lawyers, local businesses, and other community members to make a memorable community building campaign to unite the people who grow the food with the people who eat the food. They helped get the word out to defeat Measure J 86% to 14%.

Save PHS Auto Shop

Shelina was on board when the Petaluma High Auto Shop was in jeopardy. Believing that hands-on classes help students, Shelina helped take the PHS auto shop from the chopping block to a classroom we can all be proud of, with full classes, that now makes parts for NASA! What a great opportunity for the youth of our community.

Preserve Historic Petaluma

Petaluma has a unique downtown that has an allure all of its own. Shelina believes in community-led preservation, and that telling the stories of our past helps us cultivate a democratic future. She stepped up to help open the democratic process of public having a say in the future of our downtown, and will stand up for the unheard voices in our county.

Building Community

Moreda hosts dirtbike camps to build confidence in women and girls of all ages from 3 1/2 to 103 years old, these camps give females the independence and confidence in their own power through a fun dirtbike camp out in the beautiful rolling hills of Petaluma. She teaches the skills she uses in her professional world of racing, to help females be safe on motorcycles of their own. Join the next camp to see what Moreda is truly about!

Local Food Systems

During Covid when people couldn't get Milk & Eggs, Shelina Moreda started bottling milk on her family's dairy farm to supply Sonoma and Marin Counties with old fashioned contact-less "doorstep delivery" of wholesome favorites. She knows the importance of a strong local food system being able to pivot to provide for our communities. It also highlighted to her how much we all value a "connection to our food", and she wants to strengthen that connection.

County Supervisor is the main representative for the outskirts of town. The farms on the outskirts need representation, which showed when Measure J came to town. Shelina Moreda will be a welcomed bridge between the people who grow the food and the people who eat the food.

• • •

Let's become more connected to our communities, our food, and our diverse (and sometimes forgotten) history.

Moreda is one of us. She is a proven fighter for our communities, and will work hard to listen and represent all of us.
